The “We Help Each Other” (WHEO) Fund was founded in 2010 after the earthquake in Haiti and is an officially registered charitable organization within Germany. Our employees can use the fund’s accounts to donate money to their colleagues who have fallen victim to natural disaster, enabling them to provide support quickly and easily.
In 2016, a total of 128 Deutsche Post DHL employees received aid through the We Help Each Other fund. After the devastating floods in Sri Lanka in May 2016, 54 local employees of DHL received funding.
The second largest group by country comprised 40 employees in Canada after the 2016 wildfires forced the largest evacuation in Alberta's history. 13 German employees benefitted from the help raised by their colleagues, after their homes were partially or completely destroyed by heavy rain.
Furthermore, colleagues in Italy (5), Ecuador (4), Venezuela (3), as well as Costa Rica and Panama (one each) who were affected by earthquakes or landslides received support.
